Life is short

It seems like we always want more time. Especially as a stay-at-home mother. We never have time for ourselves because we are giving our families what they need. Food, clean clothes, etc.
We always hear people saying you'll miss your children when they are older and how true is that. We want more time for ourselves... but in reality we just want our worth to be visible, tangent. And right now it isn't our lives are surrounded by diapers and laundry and dishes.
Finding peace seems impossible but it isn't. The key is to find it though your loved ones. I smile every time my daughter shares with someone, when my husband gets home from work and when we are able to talk and laugh together as a family. Those moment bring me so close to God, I want to cry from joy. We need more of those moments to fill our spirits. Life isn't measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away. Life is to short to always want time for ourselves, we will miss want once was. Find joy today in the little things. And if you need a break think of all the wonderful people you have in your life and of all the love you have given your family.

Sunday Vintage

Got this at a Relief Society activity on Saturday and I love it!

I love the blue mixed in with the plaid and the gray skirt.
This photo shoot actually happened well trying to distract the toddler that didn't want to attend church today. She had fun running around. I really need to try to teach her to just sit but I wasn't up to it yesterday. So instead you get these pictures that were actually taken outside. Wow that's a first. Even though I kept stopping anytime I saw a car go by.

Sunday difficulties

This is for all those mothers that take their children to church by themselves.
Germany temple 2011

It's hard, you know something is going to happen but you never know how bad it is going to be. Today was one of those days for me. I had to go to church even though R was tired and woke up really early; to give a couple a ride. Don't get me wrong I love giving them a ride. I just knew it was going to be difficult but I didn't expect R to think it was time to go when the meeting started or for her to think it was okay to run into the chapel without me(three different times). But I must admit it was cute when she crawled under the bench to sit with the couple we took to church.
We ended up going on a few walks around the church house which seemed to help. But once nursery starts she is always so excited to go and that is when I realize it was worth it. She is learning and growing into an amazing little girl. I know it is difficult but keep going they will remember it for the rest of their lives.

Communication with a Toddler

My little one is very special. I know all kids are different and mine is no exception. She has become very good at communicating despite the fact that she doesn't actually use her verbal skills much. When she was about one. I had the need to teach her some sign language so that I could actually know what she wanted. Luckily she caught on immediately. And since then we use simple sign language very often.
Sometimes she actually makes up her own sign language. It is so funny to see.

I am a lucky mama. I have a great family that is always there for me. But sometimes I get distracted by all the difficulties and forget how blessed I really am.
My little one still doesn't use her verbal skills much but just because she has learned to communicate though other means and doesn't see the point of talking(much like some of her relatives). :)

Nap Time Struggles.

Today has been an excellent day. After struggling to get my toddler to nap for a week. I finally found a solution and of course it came though my husband.
Yesterday my DH came to the rescue around 4 o'clock he decided we needed a walk. So we went. During our outing R. wanted to be carried and proceeded to fall asleep in my husbands arms. And that is when I realized all she wanted was to be held; like she was when she was smaller.
I had been to the point of just taking away nap time all together but instead today after getting home from church, we had lunch and went on a walk. And guess what she fell asleep 5 minutes in. It was wonderful especially because I love going on walks.

Remembering yourself though it all...

I am a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, an aunt and a women with dreams and passions. At times the fact that I am also a person with needs is lost in everything else that I do. We need breaks, and by that I mean time to think, read and to do something without other demands appearing.
I still don't know all of my passions and I haven't accomplished all that I want in my life. But I know I have a lifetime to find myself in the chaos.

The Balance of wifehood and motherhood.

At times finding balance seems impossible, especially when our children are little. Our day to day is so full of needs and temper tantrums and needs. It never ends, or so it seems. By the time our husbands get home from working all day, we are tired. Completely worn out. We seem to have nothing else to give, when all our husbands need is a kind word and loving support.
I've found that by limiting the amount of things I do before he arrives I am much more capable to give him what he needs. Your husband is important. Remember him always.
Your children need love and your husband does. How can we give them what they need when we keep falling deeper and deeper? At times we feel useless, like we can't actually accomplish all that we are suppose to. (Remember you don't have to!) Life is here for us to learn from our mistakes.
   We can't accomplish everything. Ever.
In this life all we can do is give our children and husbands the love they need. The laundry and dishes can wait. You will never get back this moment. You only have now.
I have a difficult time remembering that I'm not supermom. I am only one imperfect daughter of God but I can accomplish all things though Him. He will help your family know how much you love them and your home will be a more loving place to be.

Skirt Love

When I woke up this morning I didn't feel like wearing my usual jeans and t-shirt. So I reached out and decided to wear my favorite skirt. I got it at Sportsman Authority of all places, it is the most comfortable thing I own. This skirt also has 4 different ways you can wear it. It is amazing.

 Thanks for reading!

P.S. This is not a sponsor post. I just love this skirt!
